Description

This course explores the evolution of Spanish from Latin to the language spoken today both in Spain and Latin America. A prior knowledge of Latin is not expected. In addition to focusing on the linguistic history of the Spanish language, the module will also address the socio-political history of Medieval and Golden Age Iberia and examine how Spanish was transported to Latin America.
